ELLIOT LURIE/LOOKING GLASS TOURING TO CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF BRANDY (YOU’RE A FINE GIRL)

Detroit, MI-For Immediate Release: September 14, 2021

To celebrate next year’s 50- year mark of Looking Glass’s #1 1972 hit, the band, featuring Elliot Lurie, the sole original member, and writer/singer of “Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl),” is joining forces with the soulful voice of Charles Davis (formerly of The Contours, and currently with The Shades of Blue), for shows beginning next year.

The hour- and- a half show, will feature the hits, album cuts and newer songs by Looking Glass, The Contours, and The Shades of Blue, and many surprises. Jeff Lehman will open the show.

Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl), besides being quite arguably the most popular song of 1972, has been used in many TV and movie films, and commercials. It was in the 2000 film version of Charlie’s Angels, and most recently in Guardians of the Galaxy Part Two, Spike Lee’s Black Klansman, and the 2020 Ford F-150 commercial, among others.

The song has also spawned many remakes, most notably by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Kenny Chesney.

Even at almost 50, the song is still highly revered by people of all ages. It is a timeless classic that easily identifiable from the first opening bars of it.

If you would like to interview the band, or learn more about the show, you can find it at the website below.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Jeff Lehman
